Service Overview
DMEK replaces only the innermost lining of the cornea — a sheet so thin it is mostly cells and their basement membrane.
You typically have morning blur that lasts longer each month, glare, and a cornea that stays swollen because the pump cells have failed.
The graft is inserted through a small opening and held with an air bubble. You must lie face-up so it attaches.
DMEK is technically demanding. It is not for every anatomy, and it will not clear a densely scarred front surface. If DSEK or PK is the safer match, that is what we book.

How It Works
The eye is numbed. You should not feel pain.
The failed inner layer is stripped.
The thin donor sheet is unfolded against the back of the cornea.
A bubble presses it in place. Face-up rest follows.
Partial lifts are treated early.

Bring earlier reports, your current glasses, and a list of eye drops or medicines. Tell us about diabetes, allergies, blood thinners, and any recent redness or injury.
Follow the plan you are given — observation, drops, or a procedure date. Avoid rubbing the eye. Call us the same day if pain, redness, or blurred vision gets worse instead of settling.

I recently underwent Topography-guided PRK (Contoura) surgery here, and my experience was absolutely fantastic. I had a high cylindrical power (-3.25) and was honestly a bit nervous, but Dr. Neera agrawal and the entire staff made me feel completely at ease.
